AURORA Gaming continued their stellar form to become the first team to punch a playoff ticket, extending their winning streak to nine games in Week 6 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 at the Green Sun Hotel on Saturday.
Aurora toppled ONIC Philippines on Saturday, before stamping the weekend with a win following a 2-0 sweep of Team Liquid Philippines.
Aurora strengthened its hold of the top spot after improving to a 9-0 win-loss slate, followed by Team Liquid and Onic, who have 7-3 and 6-4 records, respectively.

On Saturday, the Northern Lights edged out Onic, 2-1, to start the weekend on a high note.
A lrod fight decided Game 1 as Jan “Domengkite” Delmundo’s Wanwan spearheaded an Onic wipeout that allowed Aurora to draw first blood.
ONIC retaliated in Game 2 with King “K1NGKONG” Perez leading the charge using Joy to grab the Lord and the second game.
Domengkite turned things around in the decisive game three after a triple kill in the 14th minute sealed the series for Aurora.
Aurora then swept second-seeded Team Liquid, 2-0, to become the first team to reach the playoffs this season.
In Game 1, it was all Aurora as they secured the 1-0 lead with a blowout of 19-2 kill score, led by Dylan “Light” Catipon, who tallied 4 kills and 11 assists.
Demonkite continued his hot form alongside Edward “Edward” Dapadap to finish off Team Liquid and seal the perfect weekend.
Aurora will seek to extend their win streak against Twisted Minds and TNC next weekend at the same venue.
