A new season for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines is about to begin, but this year’s edition signals something larger than the usual competitive reset.

When Season 17 opens on March 20, the country’s longest-running professional esports league will step into a milestone moment—one defined by a new rallying call, a fresh venue, and the arrival of its first overseas player import.

The upcoming season also coincides with the 10th anniversary of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, giving the Philippine league another reason to mark the occasion with a refreshed identity and bigger ambitions.

For the first time, league matches will be staged at Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City. Located along EDSA in Diliman, the venue becomes the new home of the MPL PH live competition environment beginning March 20, offering a larger stage for fans and players alike.

The regular season will run from March 20 to May 17, spanning eight weeks of competition among the Philippines’ top Mobile Legends teams. Matches will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with squads facing each other in a double round-robin format as they fight for playoff spots.

Alongside the new venue, the league is introducing a rallying call meant to capture the spirit of Filipino competition. Rallying fans under the battle cry “Palag na ‘To!”, the 17th Season of MPL PH reflects the fearless, competitive spirit deeply rooted in Filipino gaming culture.

Drawn from a familiar expression used before stepping into a match or challenge, palag embodies confidence, resilience, and the readiness to face any opponent regardless of the odds.

The opening day will immediately test that spirit. As the season begins with a marquee matchup between Aurora Gaming and Team Liquid Philippines, two squads carrying significant international pedigree.

Team Liquid Philippines enters the season as the reigning champion of the M7 World Championship, while Aurora Gaming arrives as the MLBB Mid Season Cup winner at the 2025 Esports World Cup.

The matchup will also showcase a notable first for the league. Team Liquid will finally field its Indonesian import Sultan “Aeronnshikii” Muhammad, reinforcing a lineup anchored by star jungler Karl Nepomuceno.

Despite the absence of Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Team Liquid will still feature several returning players, including midlaner Alston “Sanji” Pabico, EXP laner Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, and roamer Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz.

Aurora, meanwhile, will rely on a lineup headlined by EXP laner Edward “Edward” Dapadap and jungler Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, along with Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, Jan “Domengkite” Del Mundo, and M6 Finals MVP Dylan “Light” Catipon.

As MPL PH enters its 17th season, the league continues to represent one of the strongest competitive scenes in the global Mobile Legends ecosystem.

With a new stage, fresh talent from overseas, and a rallying cry aimed at energizing its fanbase, Season 17 is shaping up to be more than just another campaign.
