ZUS Coffee’s Cloanne Mondonedo named PVL Player of the Week for November 4 to 8

The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles have emerged as early favorites in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, remaining unbeaten after sweeping all six of their matches.

Their latest victory came against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19, on Saturday, November 8, at the Candon City Arena, underscoring the Thunderbelles’ dominance in the tournament.

A central figure in ZUS Coffee’s run has been star setter Cloanne Mondonedo, whose playmaking skills have been exceptional. Against Choco Mucho, Mondonedo delivered 26 excellent sets and contributed three points, following a 27-set, four-point performance in a win over the Akari Chargers on Tuesday, November 4, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Her stellar performances earned her the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week award for November 4–8, beating out teammates Jovelyn Gonzaga, Anna DeBeer, and top players from other squads, including Sasha Bytsenko, KT Trebichavska, Courtney Schwan, and Savannah Davison.

“Makikita mo rin naman kasi sila na talagang, alam mo yun? Magiging motivated ka rin naman because of them, kasi makikita mo rin naman talaga na gusto nilang manalo,” Mondonedo said, crediting her teammates’ energy and passion.

The 24-year-old setter emphasized the importance of consistency as ZUS Coffee aims for their first PVL title this conference.

“Siguro gusto ko pa personally na kahit papano hindi na maging mahirap for us. So ako personally, gusto kong gawing mas better pa yung trabaho ko para maging madali rin for them yung job nila,” she added.

Already clinched for a playoff berth with a 6-0 record, the Thunderbelles will aim for a perfect 8-0 sweep when they face the Cignal Super Spikers on Thursday, November 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With Mondonedo’s leadership and a roster firing on all cylinders, ZUS Coffee is sending a strong message that they are a team to beat in the 2025 Reinforced Conference.
