ZUS Coffee’s Anna DeBeer shifts focus to PVL quarterfinals after stellar group stage run

The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles have established themselves as one of the early contenders in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, finishing the elimination round on top of the standings with an impressive 7–1 record.

ZUS Coffee closed out their elimination campaign with a commanding 25-13, 25-21, 25-21 sweep of the Nxled Chameleons at the Ynares Center in Montalban on Tuesday, November 18. As she has throughout the conference, star import Anna DeBeer played a pivotal role in the victory, tallying 16 points and 11 digs.

Despite their dominance, the former University of Louisville standout said the team is resetting its mindset heading into the knockout phase.

“It’s like a fresh start, nothing matters at this point. Our mindset now is to take it one game at a time. We are all focused on the quarterfinals, and I think our team is definitely ready,” DeBeer said.

“In high-pressure games and high-pressure tournaments, it’s going to be exciting volleyball. That level of competitiveness brings out the best in everyone. Expect great volleyball—fun rallies, exciting plays,” she added.

A major key to ZUS Coffee’s success has been the balance within the roster. With a blend of youth and experience—featuring DeBeer, AC Miner, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Chinnie Arroyo, Riza Nogales, and others—the Thunderbelles consistently find different players stepping up when it matters most.

“Every game, somebody different is stepping up, and that’s what makes us successful. It takes the load off certain players in certain moments. Like tonight, AC did really well. On any given day, it’s going to be somebody else,” DeBeer said.

As of now, ZUS Coffee are still awaiting confirmation of their quarterfinal opponent. Their final seeding will depend on the remaining elimination-round matches of the PLDT High Speed Hitters and the Farm Fresh Foxies.
