The Philippines U-17 women’s national football team is set to compete in Group A of the 2026 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers, scheduled this October.
Drawn into Group A alongside host Tajikistan, Malaysia, and Syria, the Young Filipinas are among 27 participating teams that were divided into eight groups during the official draw ceremony held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.
Groups A to C consist of four teams each, while Groups D to H feature three teams apiece.
Only the top team from each group will advance to the 10th edition of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup. They will join automatic qualifiers South Korea, Japan, North Korea, and host China — the four Asian nations that have already secured spots in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025.
The Philippines is aiming to make a return to the continental tournament after making its debut last year, where the team exited in the group stage.
The Young Filipinas will kick off their qualifying campaign against Syria on October 13, followed by a clash with host Tajikistan on October 15, and a final group match against Malaysia on October 17.
Match venues and kickoff times are yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, on the men’s side, the Philippine U-17 national team has been drawn into Group E of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, where they will face host Jordan, Iraq, Bhutan, and tournament favorites Australia.
This round of qualifiers will follow a centralized, single round-robin format and is set to take place from November 22 to 30, 2025.
