They followed that up with another convincing triumph over Hong Kong, 25-15, 28-26, 25-11, to sweep their way into the quarterfinals with a perfect record.

However, the Taiwanese side adjusted in the second, breaking through the Philippines’ defense to take a close 25-20 equalizer.

The turning point came in the third set, as the Filipinas regained control with their solid blocking and crisp execution on offense. With their teamwork and court coverage shining through, they cruised to a 25-16 win before closing out the match in the fourth set, 25-18.

With the victory, the Young Alas secured a place in the semifinals, where they will face Team Iran, a consistent contender in the regional volleyball scene.

The matchup promises to be a test of grit and determination as the Philippines looks to continue its remarkable campaign and move one step closer to a historic finals appearance.

The Young Alas’ strong performance so far has been a statement of the Philippines’ growing presence in youth volleyball across Asia — combining heart, chemistry, and confidence against some of the continent’s best young squads.
