The TNT Tropang Giga lived up to their billing as Philippine Cup favorites after storming back from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Terrafirma Dyip, 109–95, on Friday, November 7, at the Ynares Center.
The victory pushed TNT to a 5–1 record, keeping them atop the standings in the ongoing 2025 PBA Philippine Cup.
Veteran forward Kelly Williams delivered a vintage performance, posting 28 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block.

The 42-year-old capped his stellar outing by knocking down a career-best eight three-pointers—all in the fourth quarter and overtime—to complete TNT’s comeback and stun Terrafirma. Despite the win, TNT head coach Chot Reyes was visibly frustrated with his team’s lackluster effort and focus throughout most of the game.
“I really believe that in sports, sometimes when you lose, you really win. Sometimes when you win, you really lose,” Reyes said after the game. “The scoreboard shows we won, but in my mind, we really lost this game.”
Reyes admitted that TNT were fortunate to have Williams’ hot hand rescue them.
“Terrafirma completely outplayed us. We had no energy, no urgency. We’re lucky Kelly bailed us out. If he didn’t hit all those threes, I don’t think I’d be sitting here right now,” he added.
The Tropang Giga will look to tighten their defense and bring more intensity when they face the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters on Saturday, November 15, at the Aquilino Q. Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center.
With the Philippine Cup heating up, Reyes will be hoping for a more consistent effort as TNT aim to maintain their grip on the top spot.
