The Converge FiberXers have received a timely boost in the ongoing Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) season, with veteran forward Vic Manuel set to make his return to the league and suit up for the franchise.

Manuel’s agent, Danny Espiritu, confirmed to multiple media outlets that the 38-year-old has signed a short-term deal with Converge and will be available for the FiberXers in the remainder of the 2025 Philippine Cup.

Manuel returns to the PBA after a nine-month stint with the Pangasinan Heatwaves in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He previously chose not to renew his contract with Terrafirma Dyip in order to join Manny Pacquiao’s league, where he made an immediate impact. During the 2025 MPBL season, Manuel averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 33 games, helping Pangasinan reach the North Division finals before falling to Abra Solid North.

The seasoned forward adds valuable experience and depth to a Converge frontline that already includes promising young big men Justine Baltazar, Justin Arana, and Larry Muyang. Manuel is expected to appear in at least two games for the FiberXers in the Philippine Cup, beginning with their crucial matchup against the NLEX Road Warriors on Wednesday, December 17, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Converge currently holds a 6–4 win-loss record and has already secured a quarterfinals berth. A win over NLEX would strengthen the FiberXers’ bid for a coveted twice-to-beat advantage in the next round.

Selected ninth overall by GlobalPort Batang Pier in the 2012 PBA Draft, Manuel brings a wealth of experience, having also played for the Meralco Bolts, Air21 Express, Alaska Aces, Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, San Miguel Beermen, and Terrafirma Dyip. Over his career, he has won two PBA championships and earned both the PBA Mr. Quality Minutes award and the PBA Co-Order of Merit in 2018.
