Former TNT mainstay Ryan Reyes has officially called it quits on his 17-year career in the PBA.
Talk N’ Text Tropang 5G team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed Reyes’ retirement after an injury-plagued season last year.
A three-time All-Star, Reyes was known for his reliability on both ends of the floor as he captured seven championships with the Talk N’ Text Tropang Giga, alongside one with the now-defunct Sta. Lucia Realtors.

Reyes was drafted third overall in the 2007 draft by Sta Lucia before helping them win a championship. He was also the only rookie to play in that year’s All-Star Game en route to the top rookie award.
TNT then traded for him before the Realtors’ disbandment in 2010, when he instantly made an impact with a loaded roster under then-coach Chot Reyes.
The forward was hailed as Defensive Player of the Year four times and is also a recipient of the Samboy Lim Sportsmanship Award.
Reyes’ former teammate at TNT, Sean Anthony, also announced his retirement this week.
He averaged 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in his 17-year career.
