The San Miguel Beermen and the TNT Tropang Giga played out an exciting 2025 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup Finals series, which ran for six games, with San Miguel eventually coming out on top to win the title.

TNT played through the finals amid injuries to several key players, including Jayson Castro, Rey Nambatac, and Poy Erram, while another center, Calvin Oftana, played through pain after suffering knocks to both knees.

However, big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was ever-present for the depleted TNT squad, and the star revealed after the series that matching up against San Miguel and PBA legend June Mar Fajardo made him a “better player.”

“He wears on you a lot. He’s a big guy, he’s mobile, and he knows how to get to his spots very well. Hats off to June. He made me a much better player this series, going up against him. All respect to June Mar. Everything that comes his way is much deserved. Just in Game 6, he was too much for us,” Ganuelas-Rosser said in a media interaction.

Ganuelas-Rosser had an impressive run in the Philippine Cup, averaging 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, and 1.3 assists per game. This was the center’s first PBA Finals appearance, having missed Tropang Giga’s Commissioner’s Cup and Governors’ Cup finals runs due to injuries.

“I worked so hard to come back. I was a spectator for two finals, and then I was able to play a role in this one—but it sucks that it wasn’t on the winning end. Still, I’m proud I was able to come back and play. Yeah, it was a tough series. I think we had moments in each game, honestly, where it could’ve gone either way. But they’re a good team. They’re seasoned, poised, and have a lot of firepower. I think in the end, maybe their depth got to us a little bit. Hats off to them. They deserve it,” he added.

The San Diego native is now looking forward to Season 50 of the PBA and says he’s enjoying his time in the Philippines.

“I think once we’re whole, once we’re all together and able to work together, it’ll be fun. I’m looking forward to it. It’s already feeling us—I already know it’s already feeling me. Just looking forward to it,” Ganuelas-Rosser concluded.
