Former Ateneo Blue Eagles star Thirdy Ravena has officially departed from Dubai Basketball in the Euroleague after spending a year with the team.

According to SPIN.ph, Ravena and Dubai “mutually agreed to part ways” on Tuesday, Oct. 21, after the 28-year-old was not included in the roster for this season.

Last season, Ravena averaged just 0.9 points after playing only a total of 68 minutes. Dubai head coach Junica Golema never really utilized Ravena to his full extent.

Before joining Dubai, Ravena was a star import for the San-en NeoPhoenix, where he played for four years and captured the Impressive Asia Player of the Year award in 2024 as well as multiple All-Star nods.

The import averaged 12.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in his three years with the Phoenix, where he became one of the most sought-after imports in Asia.

Ravena’s contract is reportedly guaranteed, making him in no rush to sign for another team. Meanwhile, he has expressed interest in joining Gilas Pilipinas for the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games this December.

However, the former UAAP MVP still wants to prove himself on the international stage, and reports said that there are offers to bring him back to the B.League.

During his time in the UAAP, Ravena was a powerhouse for Ateneo, leading them to a three-peat from 2017 to 2019, and becoming the first player to be hailed as Finals MVP in those three seasons.
