Stephen Curry is unconcerned by the Golden State Warriors’ lack of offseason trades

The management of teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) is currently busy during the offseason, making trades and evaluating potential players to strengthen their respective squads ahead of the new 2025–26 season.

However, one team that has come under criticism for its lack of activity in the NBA trade market is the Golden State Warriors, with even their star forward Draymond Green expressing disappointment with the team’s front office.

Golden State icon Stephen Curry, however, appears unconcerned by the perceived lack of urgency shown by management. In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole at the American Century Championship in South Lake Tahoe, the 37-year-old explained why he’s content to be patient and continues to trust the front office.

“The narrative outside versus the narrative inside might not always be the same. We talk. We have communication. I know what’s going on to the point where I have a lot of confidence in our ability to put together a winning team next year. That’s all I want,” Curry said.

As it stands, the biggest talking point for the Warriors this offseason is the restricted free agency of Jonathan Kuminga, which remains unresolved after two weeks. The team also failed to retain center Kevon Looney, who signed with the New Orleans Pelicans on a two-year, $16 million contract after entering free agency.

Despite these setbacks, Curry maintains his faith in general manager Mike Dunleavy and clarified that his role with Davidson’s basketball program does not conflict with team matters.

“My role at Davidson is a little different than me walking upstairs trying to do the GM’s job. But we have a great chain of communication. It’s not like I’m trying to overstep. This is what they do. This is what their job is. We all have a job to do for us to win, and every year it presents new challenges. You’ve got to solve that puzzle. We did a really good job of it toward the end of last year. Got to roll it back. And everybody has to be their best self through every role throughout the organization,” he concluded.

While Curry might not be concerned with the current roster, there’s no doubt that the Warriors are in desperate need of reinforcements, especially at the center position. It remains to be seen what moves the front office will make in the offseason—and whether those decisions will help shape the team’s future success.
