Gilas Pilipinas head coach has praised De Liaño, claiming he has “looked like the best player in the league,” and rewarded the rookie by including him in the 18-man pool for the upcoming FIBA qualifiers.
For their standout performances, Bolick and Gomez de Liaño shared the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week honors for the period of November 12–16, as voted by journalists covering Asia’s oldest professional basketball league.
This marks Bolick’s first Player of the Week award of the season, while it is Gomez de Liaño’s third overall. He first earned the honor during opening week (October 5–12) and again for October 22–26. Notably, he recorded consecutive triple-doubles in his first three games, including a historic performance in a 129–92 win over the Titan Ultra Giants, becoming the first rookie since Scottie Thompson in 2016 to achieve the feat in his PBA debut.
