Alas Pilipinas Men will bring a roster filled with eager young guns to prove themselves and make history in the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championships.

Alas Men boast a lineup filled with former collegiate stars, such as former two-time NCAA MVP Louie Ramirez, former NU Bulldogs stars Mikaelo Buddin and Jade Disquitado, and former DLSU Green Spikers setter Eco Adajar.

Ramirez, who was the leader of the UPHSD Altas’ NCAA dynasty, earned his spot in Alas head coach Angiolino Frigoni’s squad after showing his power in both the outside and opposite hitter positions during his time in the NCAA and currently with the Cignal HD Spikers in the Spikers’ Turf.

“I’m proud that wherever I go, I still carry the NCAA with me. It means a lot to come from there. This will definitely be one of the best moments of my volleyball career. It’s the World Championship,” he said.

Buddin, a former Best Outside Hitter in the UAAP, also relishes the opportunity to play for his country against a crop of the world’s best.

“Honestly, this is a dream come true. I couldn’t ask for more. Coming from the province, I just dreamed of making it to Palarong Pambansa, then I played for NU in the UAAP, and now the national team,” he said.

“It just feels like everything’s been falling into place, especially if I end up lined up for the World Championship,” he added. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent the country.”

Buddin, Ramirez, and Disquitado also helped Alas snag a fourth-place finish in the 2025 Southeast Asia (SEA) Men’s V-League last July.

Former UAAP MVP Josh Ybañez and NU Bulldogs stars Leo Ordiales and Peng Taguibolo are also part of the cast, who will support a core of Bryan Bagunas, Marck Espejo, and Owa Retamar.

Alas Pilipinas Men will kickstart the prestigious tournament against Tunisia at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7:00 p.m.
