PVL set to ignite Candon City with blockbuster double-header on July 29

Candon City, Ilocos Sur, is once again poised to become the epicenter of Philippine volleyball as the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour makes its highly anticipated return on July 29. 

The Candon City Arena will host an explosive double-header, promising a day filled with intense action and thrilling matchups.

Headlining the day’s events is a marquee clash between two of the league’s most formidable squads: the Petro Gazz Angels and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. This highly awaited encounter is expected to be a tightly contested battle, as both teams are tipped to be strong contenders in the ongoing pre-season tournament and will be looking to fine-tune their championship aspirations.

Petro Gazz, the defending All-Filipino champion, holds a strong record in Candon City, having swept their previous PVL On Tour outings at the Candon City Arena. Their dominant straight-set victories against the Nxled Chameleons in October 2023 and the Farm Fresh Foxies in November 2024 showcase their comfort and success in the venue. They will be aiming for a hat trick of sweeps in Candon against the Flying Titans.

Choco Mucho, on the other hand, is eager to make their mark and spoil Petro Gazz’s perfect run in the city. Bolstered by the integration of promising rookies and a rejuvenated roster, the Flying Titans have added a new layer of unpredictability and excitement to this year’s tournament.

Before their much-anticipated face-off in Candon, both Petro Gazz and Choco Mucho will have crucial tune-up matches in Ilagan City on July 12 and 13 against Farm Fresh and PLDT, respectively. These games will be vital in their preparations for the Candon City showdown.
