Matchday 7 of the Premier League was packed with late drama and turning points across the table. Chelsea’s stoppage-time winner over Liverpool and Everton’s comeback against Crystal Palace stole the headlines, while Arsenal and Manchester City kept their title pushes steady with composed victories. Tottenham and Manchester United stayed within reach, and Bournemouth’s late rally highlighted a weekend defined by resilience, narrow margins, and high-stakes moments that tightened both the title race and mid-table battle.

Here’s what you missed on Matchday 7 of the Premier League:

Gunners dominate West Ham, 2–0

At the Emirates, Arsenal dispatched West Ham United with authority.

Declan Rice, facing his former club, opened the scoring in the first half, and Bukayo Saka converted a penalty (67′) to make it comfortable. The Gunners controlled much of the match, though their captain Martin Ødegaard was forced off later with a knee issue.

Chelsea stun Liverpool with late winner, 2–1

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea delivered a blow to Liverpool’s title ambitions.

Moises Caicedo opened the scoring, but Cody Gakpo equalized (87′) for the Reds. The turnaround came in stoppage time via Estevao Willian, who sneaked in a winner in the 95th minute. Liverpool now finds itself reeling after three straight defeats.

Man City sneak past Brentford, 1–0

Erling Haaland continued his hot run, converting in the 9th minute to earn Manchester City a narrow win over Brentford.

City controlled much of the game but were pegged back late, especially after Rodri was forced off with a muscle injury early (22′).

United ease past Sunderland, 2–0

Manchester United claimed a routine win at Old Trafford, thanks to two first-half goals.

Mason Mount struck early, and Benjamin Sesko added the second before half-time. Sunderland had a penalty overturned by VAR and struggled to mount a sustained threat thereafter.

Spurs squeak by Leeds, 2–1

On a tight afternoon at Elland Road, Tottenham Hotspur edged out Leeds.

Mathys Tel put Spurs ahead early, and though Noah Okafor pulled Leeds level, Mohammed Kudus struck in the second half to deliver the winner. The victory keeps Spurs in touch with the chasing pack.

Everton topple Palace late, 2–1

Crystal Palace seemed on course to maintain their remarkable run, with Ismaïla Sarr netting an early opener.  But Iliman Ndiaye converted a penalty (76′) to level, and in stoppage time, Jack Grealish struck a winner after a VAR review. The result ends Palace’s 19-match unbeaten streak and gives Everton a dramatic lift.

Villa edge Burnley, 2–1

In a combative contest at Villa Park, Donyell Malen bagged a brace for Aston Villa to secure victory.

Burnley pulled one back through Ugochukwu (78′), but could not find parity. Villa’s composure in the closing stages proved decisive.

Newcastle rout Forest, 2–0

Newcastle United controlled their home clash with Nottingham Forest to earn a 2–0 win.

Bruno Guimarães opened the scoring (58′) with a superb strike, and Nick Woltemade converted a penalty later on (82′). Forest’s recent struggles deepen, and pressure mounts on their manager.

Wolves and Brighton share honors, 1–1

In a gritty Molineux clash, Wolves took the lead via an own goal / deflected strike, but Brighton & Hove Albion refused to lie down. Jan Paul van Hecke headed home late to salvage a point.

Bournemouth rally past Fulham, 3–1

Fulham looked to be grabbing something from the South Coast when Ryan Sessegnon struck midway through the second half. But Antoine Semenyo equalized in the 78th minute, Justin Kluivert arrowed in a sensational long-range effort in the 84th, and in stoppage time Semenyo added a third to complete the turnaround.
