Philippines exits Netflix’s Physical: Asia

Team Pilipinas’ run in the hit Netflix competition “Physical: Asia” came to an end after falling short in a tense elimination round aired Tuesday, November 11.

The Philippines became the third country to exit the regional fitness reality show, following Thailand and Indonesia, as they struggled to keep pace against powerhouse competitors from Korea and Australia.

Representing the Philippines was CrossFit athlete Justin Hernandez, who stepped in for boxing icon Manny Pacquiao as the team’s anchor in the elimination event.

Hernandez faced off against Australia’s Eddie Williams and Korea’s Kim Min-soo in a demanding sack-throw challenge, which tested upper-body strength, coordination, and endurance under time pressure.

The contest proved decisive as Williams powered through with a massive throw that set the benchmark early, while Kim managed to stay consistent through multiple rounds.

Hernandez, despite a strong showing in earlier challenges, fell short on his final attempt as his sack failed to clear the height requirement, officially ending Team Pilipinas’ campaign.

Throughout the competition, Team Pilipinas had impressed viewers with their teamwork, grit, and sportsmanship, representing Filipino resilience on the international stage. 

Their exit drew messages of support from fans who praised the squad for competing with heart against some of the region’s top athletes.
