Pacquiao-Lomachenko exhibition planned for December

Boxing legend and Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao is set to return in a big way as talks are underway for a super-exhibition bout against former Featherweight champion Vasily Lomachenko.

According to the Daily Tribune, Pacquiao said an exhibition fight against Lomachenko is being arranged for December as a tune-up for a “big” fight happening next year.

Pacquiao’s official representative Sean Gibbons confirmed the big fight hoping to take place by January or February of next year.

Gibbons and the former eight-divison world champion did not reveal who the opponent is for the big fight but assured that they are still working on it.

Pacman, who was inducted in the Boxing Hall of Fame last June, is in the twilight of his career, turrning 47 years old on December.

The Filipino last fought in July for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Welterweight title but fell short after a draw against Mario Barrios. Pacquiao briefly retired in 2021 after losing to Yordenius Ugas via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Lomachenko last fought George Kambosos Jr. in 2024, where he claimed the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) lightweight crowns.
