The Milwaukee Bucks are making NBA history by bringing all three Antetokounmpo brothers onto their roster, following the signing of Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way contract.

As first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania, “The Milwaukee Bucks are signing Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way NBA deal, joining older brothers Giannis and Thanasis, Octagon’s Alex Saratsis tells ESPN. This marks the first time in NBA history that three brothers are on active roster contracts with the same team.”

Alex, 24, is the youngest of the five Antetokounmpo siblings. After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, he spent time with the Raptors 905 during the 2021–22 season and played two seasons with the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate. Most recently, he suited up for PAOK in the Greek Basketball League, averaging 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds across 14 appearances.

To make room on the roster, the Bucks are waiving guard Jamaree Bouyea from his two-way contract.

Alex joins his older brothers on a historic Bucks roster. Thanasis Antetokounmpo, 32, has been with Milwaukee for the past five seasons but missed all of last year due to a torn Achilles. He re-signed with the team this offseason on a one-year, $2.9 million deal.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, 30, is already a franchise icon and widely considered one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history. A two-time NBA MVP and Finals MVP, Giannis led the Bucks to their first championship in 50 years during the 2020–21 season.

Another brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo, also spent time in the NBA. Drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the final pick in 2018 and traded to the Dallas Mavericks, Kostas later joined the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won an NBA title in the 2020 bubble season. He has played in Europe since 2021.

With Alex’s signing, the Bucks not only strengthen their developmental depth but also make history—becoming the first NBA team to have three brothers under contract simultaneously.
