NBA Injury Report: Bradley Beal out for the season with fractured hip

As if the Los Angeles Clippers’ season couldn’t get worse enough after a 3-7 start to the season, new arrival Bradley Beal has suffered a fractured hip, ruling him out for the whole season.

A devastating blow to the Clippers, who signed Beal in the offseason to replace the high-scoring efforts of Norman Powell, whom they traded for John Collins.

Beal had only played six games this season and averaged 8.2 points and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 37.5% from the field. 

Head coach Ty Lue had restricted the former Washington Wizards star’s minutes due to his recovery from a prior surgery in the offseason.

Other new arrivals, in Chris Paul, Brook Lopez, and Nicolas Batum have not yet made any major impact for the Clippers. who are left to pick up the pieces and are seeking to end their five-game losing skid. 

Meanwhile, Powell is thriving with the Miami Heat, playing better than last season after averaging 24.5 points to start the season as the Heat currently boasts a 7-4 slate, including a win against the Clippers.

Stars James Harden and Kawhi Leonard have remained their usual high-output selves, but the latter has not played since their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Nov. 5 due to a hand injury.

Los Angeles would have to turn to Bogdan Bogdanovic, who has had a down year so far, and sophomore guard Cam Christie.
