The Indiana Pacers bounced back from a Game 2 loss to make the most of home advantage and clinched Game 3 of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 116–107, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday, June 12 (Philippine Standard Time).

Tyrese Haliburton has established himself as arguably the Pacers’ most important player, and the guard stepped up once again to lead from the front with 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, along with nine rebounds and 11 assists, while also making a big impact on defense. He received strong support from Bennedict Mathurin, who scored 27 points off the bench in just 22 minutes, while Pascal Siakam added 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. T.J. McConnell chipped in with 10 points, five assists, and five steals in 15 minutes on the court.

However, it was the Thunder who controlled the game in the opening quarter, taking a 32–24 lead. Just when it looked like they had control of the game, the home side mounted an incredible second-quarter comeback. The Pacers went on a 40–28 run that deflated the visitors, with Indiana relying on a collective effort rather than individual brilliance.

What worked for the Pacers was their dominance in the final quarter, outplaying the Thunder and finishing the fourth with a 32–18 scoreline to seal the 116–107 win.

The Thunder once again depended on reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to bail them out, but he had his worst offensive performance of the NBA Finals so far, finishing with 24 points on 9-of-20 shooting. He also struggled from three-point range, converting just one of his three attempts.

Indiana will aim to continue its winning form and capitalize on home court advantage again in Game 4, scheduled for Saturday, June 14 (Philippine Standard Time), at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
