Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in National Basketball Association (NBA) history, if not the greatest. His career achievements speak for themselves, including holding the league’s all-time scoring record, along with numerous other accolades.
In the ongoing 2025-26 season, LeBron added yet another milestone to his legendary resume by becoming the first player in NBA history to play 23 seasons. Over his illustrious career, he has faced countless legends and historic teams.
The 40-year-old has squared off against some of the game’s most iconic squads, including the San Antonio Spurs trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili in 2007 while with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and later against the same Spurs core with a young Kawhi Leonard in 2013. He also matched up with Dirk Nowitzki’s Dallas Mavericks in 2011 as a member of the Miami Heat and faced the Oklahoma City Thunder trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden that same year.

LeBron has also battled the generational Golden State Warriors teams led by Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, further cementing his reputation for facing elite competition throughout his career.
In a recent episode of his Mind the Game podcast with NBA legend and co-host Steve Nash, LeBron named the most dominant player he has faced in his career—a choice that may not surprise many: Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic.
“I will say this. There has not been a more dominant, complete player that I have played against, in the sense of all the attributes. From the passing, to the shooting, to the rebounding, to the attention. There is nothing he cannot do on the offensive end. Like, nothing at all. Nothing. You try to double him, he is going to make you pay. You try to play him single coverage, he is going to make you pay. He even brings the ball up the floor, they outlet the ball to him,” LeBron said.
Jokic has established himself as one of the NBA’s premier players, leading the Nuggets to the 2023 NBA championship. The Serbian superstar is a three-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), 2023 NBA Finals MVP, and a seven-time NBA All-Star.
Notably, Jokic played a pivotal role in helping the Nuggets sweep LeBron’s Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Finals and did it again in five games during the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs.
