Kenneth Llover scores knockout win to end stellar year

Undefeated Filipino boxing prospect Kenneth Llover ended a stellar year, finishing China’s Ayati Sailike inside two rounds at the Aichi Sky Expo in Japan.

Llover successfully defended his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Bantamweight title ann further improved his chances of getting a future world title bout.

The fight was all Llover from the beginning, with the Filipino immediately capturing the momentum and pummeling Sailike in the first round.

It was in the second round when Llover capitalized on a prior knockdown, hammering left hooks that forced referee Nobuto Ikehara to stop the fight.

The 22-year-old improved his record to 17 wins and zero losses, while nabbing the 12th finish of his career.

The knockout also marked Llover’s fourth this year, and second in Japan, with the first being a victory against Keitha Kurihara at Korakuen Hall earlier this year.

Llover will hope to fight for a world title next year after ending the year inside the top 10 of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Association (WBA), and World Boxing Council (WBC) Bantamweight rankings.
