After weeks of being sidelined, Gilas Pilipinas star Justin Brownlee has finally recovered from pneumonia and has resumed training, head coach Tim Cone confirmed.
Brownlee was forced to miss a potential partnership with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for the Meralco Bolts in the East Asia Super League (EASL).
There were concerns that the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel legend was going to miss the upcoming FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, but all worries have been erased after Cone confirmed that his import has fully recovered.
Cone also said that Brownlee has started training with the team and showed no signs of lingering issues from the disease in Gilas’ training last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, without Brownlee, Meralco settled for a 2-2 record and missed the import’s scoring capabilities.
Aside from Brownlee, Gilas veterans Japeth Aguilar, June Mar Fajardo, and AJ Edu. Chris Newsome, Jamie Malonzo, Kai Sotto, Ange Kouame, CJ Perez, Carl Tamayo, Scottie Thompson, Kevin Quiambao, Dwight Ramos, and Calvin Oftana will also be present.
Gilas will face Guam in the first game held at Calvo Field House on Friday, Nov. 28, and again on Monday, Dec. 1, at the Blue Eagle Gym.
