June Mar Fajardo records first career triple-double as San Miguel crushes Titan Ultra in historic rout

June Mar Fajardo continues to redefine dominance — this time by adding a rare new milestone to his legendary résumé.

The San Miguel Beer cornerstone logged his first career triple-double in a lopsided 158–117 win over Titan Ultra on Wednesday night at the Ynares Center II in Montalban, orchestrating a masterclass that saw the Beermen extend their winning streak to five while moving into joint second place in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup standings.

The nine-time MVP tallied 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists — all in just three quarters — as San Miguel dismantled the league’s newest team with clinical precision. But for Fajardo, who has long been the Beermen’s go-to scorer, the night was more about sharing the wealth than chasing stats.

“June Mar, he’s not looking to score anymore. He’s looking to assist—maybe napansin niya na malapit na siya mag-triple-double, kaya nakuha niya,” said head coach Leo Austria with a grin. “Another record for him.”

It was a statement victory that showcased the Beermen’s depth and offensive firepower. San Miguel erupted for 43 points in the second quarter to build a massive 78–39 halftime lead, and the rout was effectively sealed by the time Jericho Cruz hit a bucket midway through the third, breaching the century mark with more than six minutes left.

CJ Perez spearheaded the charge with 26 points, including three long-range four-point bombs in a fiery second-quarter stretch that broke Titan’s resistance. Cruz followed with 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting, while Don Trollano, fresh off a 29-point outburst versus Magnolia, chipped in 20 points in just 14 minutes.

The Beermen’s bench mob continued to shine — outscoring the starters 107–51, led by Kris Rosales (10 points) and big man Mo Tautuaa, who added a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.

“Tambak ‘yung first group namin sa second group,” Austria quipped, acknowledging the explosive production from his reserves. “About 66 percent ng output namin, galing sa bench. Kung makikita niyo naman, during the playoffs talagang inaasahan ko ‘yung bench eh.”

The emphatic win capped off a dominant stretch for the defending champions, who now sit alongside NLEX and Rain or Shine at 5–2 heading into the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers break.

Titan Ultra, meanwhile, never recovered from San Miguel’s relentless pace. Von Pessumal paced the Giant Risers with 21 points, while Joshua Munzon (20 points) and Calvin Abueva (16 points, 10 rebounds) tried to spark resistance to no avail. The loss dropped Titan to 2–5 after a brief glimmer of momentum from their win over Blackwater last week.

Head coach Johnedel Cardel will now look for a response as Titan faces NLEX this Sunday at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.

In the earlier game, Phoenix Super LPG snapped its own four-game slide in emphatic fashion, torching Terrafirma, 107–76, behind a fast start and disciplined defense. The Fuel Masters opened with a 10–0 blitz and never looked back, improving to 2–5 and reigniting their hopes of a playoff push.

As the league heads into its international break, one thing remains clear — June Mar Fajardo’s greatness continues to evolve, even after a decade of dominance. The Kraken may have mastered scoring long ago, but now he’s reminding everyone he can just as easily orchestrate.
