Collegiate standouts Janrey Pasaol and Allen Liwag took home the Most Valuable Player awards in the UAAP and NCAA, respectively, after stellar campaigns this season.
Pasaol, a standout from the FEU Tamaraws, topped the Statistical Points (SPs) race with 81.5 after averaging 15.4 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in Season 88.
UST FSA Collins Akowe, meanwhile, was awarded the Rookie of the Year after recording 16.4 points and 14.5 rebounds.
Akowe tallied 79.286 SPs to round out the UAAP’s Elite Team, which also consists of Pasaol, DLSU’s Mike Phillips (80.429 SPs, NU standout Jake Figueroa (77.286 SPs), and fellow Growling Tiger Nic Cabañero (66.643 SPs).

Meanwhile, in the NCAA, Liwag grabbed his second consecutive MVP award after again leading the Benilde Blazers to the playoffs, averaging 15.71 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.
Letran’s Titing Manalili finished runner-up and was hailed as the Rookie and Freshman of the Year after tallying 14.087 points, 8.92 assists, and 5.15 rebounds per contest.
Liwag and Manalili spearhead the Mythical Five with Letran big man Kevin Santos, San Beda star Janti Miller, and San Sebastian’s Jhuniel Dela Rama.
