Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray and Boston Celtics forward-guard Jaylen Brown have been named the National Basketball Association (NBA) Players of the Week for the Week 7 of the 2025-26 season.
Jamal Murray (Western Conference Player of Week)
The Denver Nuggets went 3-1 in the first week of December, with star guard Jamal Murray at the heart of their success. Murray averaged 29.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game, shooting an impressive 59.5 percent from the field, 62.1 percent from three-point range, and 92.9 percent from the free-throw line. Remarkably, these performances came despite an ankle sprain that limited him to just one game in the week.
The 28-year-old continues to be a cornerstone of the Nuggets’ title ambitions, posting season averages of 25.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from three-point range—all career highs. He currently ranks 16th in the league in points per game and 11th in assists.
This marks the first Player of the Week honor of Murray’s decade-long NBA career. He also becomes the 19th player in Nuggets history to receive the award, and notably, the first player other than Nikola Jokic to win it since Paul Millsap in 2018.
Jaylen Brown (Eastern Conference Player of Week)
Expected to lead the Boston Celtics this season, Jaylen Brown delivered in a big way, guiding his team to victories over the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Toronto Raptors during Week 7, while sitting out their win over the Washington Wizards due to illness.
Brown scored at least 30 points in all three games he played, averaging 34.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per contest, with shooting splits of 53.8 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from three-point range, and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line. The 29-year-old has stepped up in the absence of several key Celtics players this season, posting career-high averages of 29.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game.
Brown has reached the 30-point mark in 13 games this season, tied with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell for the second-most in the NBA, trailing only Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
This is the fifth time in his career that Brown has earned the Player of the Week honor, making him the sixth Celtic to reach at least five such awards. He joins franchise legends Paul Pierce (17), Larry Bird (15), Jayson Tatum (12), Kevin Garnett (5), and Isaiah Thomas (5).
