As Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao continues his search for his next opponent, two unlikely names have come up in the conversation.
Former UFC stars Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have entered the conversation as Pacman’s next opponents.
In an interview with the International Boxing Association (IBA), Pacquiao didn’t hold back on his opinion of the Irishman while praising Nurmagomedov.
“Oh yeah, that’s possible also, with Conor McGregor. Too much (talking). I want to shut his mouth up,” Pacquiao said.
“(Nurmagomedov) is a nice guy, a nice person. Humble and an inspiration. A good role model for sports,” he added.

McGregor, who last fought Pacquiao’s rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2019, would be a high-profile bout but wouldn’t be the title fight Pacquiao had been searching for in the past months.
Talks for a fight against World Boxing Association (WBA) champion Rolly Romero stalled recently after the WBA ordered Romero to fight a mandatory challenger instead.
An exhibition bout fight with former world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko was also talked about recently, but nothing has been announced.
A fight that was confirmed to be in the works is a rematch against Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao and the undefeated boxer first fought in 2015, when the latter put an end to the years-long debate via a controversial unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, McGregor and Nurmagomedov have had their own rivalry in the UFC that culminated in a high-profile fight in 2018 that resulted in a post-match brawl.
