The Philippines is poised to host the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup 2025 from November 21 to December 5 and the excitement is building.

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) President John Gutierrez says the country is ready for the spotlight as top teams all over the world battle it out for the inaugural title.

“It’s tremendous. It’s very big,” Gutierrez told One Sports  “Simply put, FIFA has only four quadrennial events. Before this one, they had three. They had the men’s and women’s football every four years. They had men’s futsal. And now, for the first time, they will have futsal for women.”

“We are very fortunate to have been given rights to host the event. So I guess FIFA has trust in our capability,” he added.

The tournament will feature 16 teams. The Philippines has been grouped with powerhouse nations such as Poland, Morocco and Argentina.

“These are all powerhouse teams that earned their way through qualifiers to be in the World Cup. So, as far as our chances are, I believe that we belong to the world stage. We’ve been preparing since we got the hosting rights. I think we’ll do well,” Gutierrez said.

With the world’s spotlight now on Manila and its venues, the PFF is confident about delivering a top‑class event. The stage is set for the Filipinas and the country to rise to the moment.

The Filipinas will be led by Maye Mendaño and Dionesa Tolentin alongside Sheen Borres, Shelah Mae Cadag, Sara Castañeda, Judy Connolly, Alisha Del Campo, Isabella Flanigan, Cathrine Graversen, Katrina Guillou, Samantha Hughes, Vrendelle Nuera, Regine Rebosora, and Kayla Santiago.

The Filipina5 was seeded in Group A with world No. 6 Argentina, world No. 14 Poland, and world No. 31 Morocco.
