England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has continued his sensational start to the 2025–26 season, finding the net at an astonishing rate in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League.
Kane struck Bayern’s second goal in the 14th minute during their 4–0 rout of Club Brugge in Champions League action at the Allianz Arena in the early hours of Thursday, October 23 (Philippine Standard Time). The goal marked Kane’s 20th of the season in just 12 matches — a milestone he reached faster than global icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi ever did.
Ronaldo reached 20 goals in 13 games during the 2014–15 season, while Messi’s quickest run to the same mark came in 17 games — a feat he has achieved three times in his illustrious career.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany was full of praise for his talismanic striker, even drawing comparisons to the two modern greats of world football.
“Harry Kane can of course still improve, even though he has been more than brilliant for us,” Kompany said in a post-match press conference. “Messi and Ronaldo have set the bar so high that you feel scoring at this rate should be normal, but what Kane is doing is truly outstanding. He worked so hard for the team tonight and was once again very important for us.”
Kompany also lauded the fluidity of Bayern’s attack under Kane’s leadership.
“We like that people are asking, ‘Who was our striker tonight? Who was the playmaker?’ — that’s when we know our attack is fluent. I can’t teach Harry how to head the ball like that — some things, like his feel for space, you just can’t teach,” he added.
Kane’s latest scoring feat adds to an already record-breaking campaign. Earlier this month, the 32-year-old became the fastest player across Europe’s top five leagues to score 100 goals for a single club, achieving the mark in just 104 games — breaking the previous record of 105 set by Ronaldo and Erling Haaland.
After lifting his first Bundesliga title last season, Kane now has his sights set on Champions League glory with Bayern. If he maintains this remarkable form, the Bavarian giants will be among the favorites to challenge for European supremacy once again.
