Haliburton leads Pacers to Game 4 win over the Knicks and one step closer to the NBA Finals

The Indiana Pacers are one win away from their glory days and to set a date in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.

After they lost Game 3 courtesy of a staggering comeback from the Knicks, the Pacers found a way to take Game 4 of the Easter Conference Finals with a 130-121 victory over the New York Knicks at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana on Wednesday, May 28 (Philippine Standard Time).

Tyrese Haliburton led from the front for the Pacers, almost recording a triple double in the first half and ended with 32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Haliburton may have headlined the night but there were also great contributions made by Pascal Siakam who finished with 30 points. Siakam’s playoff experience is clearly paying off. Bennedict Mathurin scored 20 points off the bench in just 12 minutes, and Aaron Nesmith contributed on both ends, adding 16 points, limiting Brunson’s impact.

Jalen Brunson once again played the lone hand for the Knicks, finishing with 31 points, although his consistency and shot-making did not affect the fortunes of his team on this occasion. And Karl Anthony Towns put pressure on the Pacers by adding 24 points.

Momentum can shift quickly in the playoffs, and Indiana showed real poise by regaining control after a heartbreaking Game 3 loss. Now, with a 3-1 series lead, they’re one win away from rewriting their story and reintroducing themselves on the Finals stage for the first time in 25 years.

If they can maintain this collective effort, it’s hard to see New York pulling off three straight wins. But Game 5 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday, May 30 (Philippine Standard Time) will be Do or Die for the Knicks.
