Former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks look like they are heading for a divorce after reports surfaced that the star is uncertain about his future in Milwaukee.

Reports surfaced this week of Antetokounmpo and the Bucks discussing the star’s future after a horrid 9-13 start to the season.

Many believe that the New York Knicks are a frontrunner to land the 2021 Finals MVP, and it seems that the interest is mutual.

NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed that Giannis has already declared that he wants to be a Knick to the Bucks’ front office.

“This already happened. Shams reported this a couple of months ago. You can put whatever verbiage you want around it, whether he requested it or asked or hinted at it, but he basically said: I wanna be a Knick, can you make me a Knick? And they had discussions for some period of days, but those talks didn’t progress, so they dropped it before camp,” Windhorst said.

The 30-year-old ignited trade discussions before this week after deleting most of his posts on Instagram, leading fans to believe that his time in Milwaukee was nearing its end.

Before the season started, tensions reportedly arose between him and the Bucks camp after Milwaukee released Damian Lillard despite having $113 million left in his contract.

The Bucks eventually bolstered their roster with the addition of Myles Turner, but the team has yet to show glimpses of being a contender this season.

Whether New York does indeed land Antetokounmpo remains to be seen, as the Bucks will undoubtedly want a hefty return for the star, who is currently averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists this season.
