Gennady Golovkin headlines the new names in the men’s modern category of the International Boxing Hall of Fame ballot class of 2026.

The Kazakhstan power puncher is joined by fellow former Middleweight world champions Vernon Forrest and Steve Collins.

Golovkin retired with a 42-2-1 win-loss-draw record, including 37 stoppages, and was one of the two, alongside Canelo Alvarez, who ruled the modern Middleweight landscape.

Ring Magazine hailed him as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world from 2017 after his masterclass against former world title contender Daniel Jacobs.

GGG entered the peak of his career with his iconic trilogy against Alvarez, when most pundits thought that he should’ve won their first fight, which was ruled a split draw and awarded Fight of the Year. Despite losing the next two fights, Golovkin is still regarded as one of modern boxing’s finest knockout artists.

Like Golovkin, Forrest was also at one point the Middleweight division’s “boogeyman” after becoming the first fighter to beat Sugar Shane Mosley, not once, but twice.

He finished his career on a high note after avenging his loss against former world champion Sergio Mora, to end with a 43-1 slate, including 29 knockouts.

Last but definitely not least is Collins, who is regarded to be one of the greatest boxers to come out of Ireland due to his relentless style and heart.

The Irishman ended his career on a 15-fight winning streak and the WBO Super-Middleweight king with a 36-3 record.

Collins also became the first man to hand Chris Eubank a loss at 168 pounds, as well as being the fighter who retired Nigel Benn following two stoppage victories.
