Filipino fighter Rolando Dy became the first Filipino to win a Bare Knuckle Fighting World Championship after clobbering Liam Rees in BKB 49 at the Vale Arena on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Dy, a former UFC and BRAVE fighter, captured a unanimous decision victory, 59-54, 58-55, to dethrone the hometown favorite as the new BKB Super Welterweight Champion.

The Filipino had Rees’ number the whole fight, highlighted by a knockdown in the second round after tagging him with a right hook.

The knockout elevated Dy’s record to 5-1, while also cementing him as one of the sport’s top stars.

The Incredible finished with a 1-4 record in the UFC before becoming Abu Dhabi Warriors Featherweight champion in 2019.

The fight was the second time Dy fought for a BKB title, with the first being in the Featherweight division, suffering a decision loss to Martin Refell.
