The Creamline Cool Smashers are the most successful club in Premier Volleyball League (PVL) history, as evidenced by the number of titles they have won. They are also, without a doubt, the most popular team in the league.

What makes Creamline even more popular is that they are led by Alyssa Valdez, who is widely considered the greatest volleyball player to come from the Philippines, having achieved legendary status. Her immense popularity across various social media platforms is a testament to her influence and reach.

It comes as no surprise that Creamline and Valdez enjoy massive support wherever they go in the Philippines—and it was no different during the Cool Smashers’ first two games of the PVL On Tour leg in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Valdez, for her part, revealed in a media interaction that she continues to be overwhelmed by the unwavering support the franchise receives, thanking the fans for helping to grow the sport of volleyball in the country.

“It’s been about eight years now since I started playing for Creamline, and the love and support from every Filipino and volleyball fan all over the Philippines is still just as strong. Right now, we are here in Vigan. It’s really warm, and even though it’s rainy, the welcome we’ve received here is amazing,” Valdez said.

“At the end of the day, we want to thank them. They help us keep volleyball growing in our country. It’s also a way to reconnect with our roots. This is my first time in Vigan, and I love experiencing the culture and tasting all the local food. I am really happy, and I hope this continues, with more people supporting all the teams in the PVL,” she added.

Creamline have continued to show why they are the best team in PVL history, cruising to a 2-0 record in the ongoing PVL On Tour preseason tournament. They currently share the lead in Pool B with the Cignal HD Spikers, ending their Vigan City leg unbeaten and bringing joy to their fans.

The 31-year-old credited the team’s strong start in the PVL On Tour to their three-week preparation, and praised new additions Sheena Toring and Nica Celis for gelling well with the team.

“I hope this is just the beginning. We still have a lot to improve with our new teammates,” Valdez concluded.

Creamline will next be seen in action when they battle Cignal for the top spot in Pool B. The two teams meet on Tuesday, July 1, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.
