Dwight Ramos makes the most of B.LEAGUE All-Star Weekend on and off the court

For Dwight Ramos, the 2026 B.LEAGUE All-Star Weekend was never just about basketball. The Levanga Hokkaido standout treated the league’s midseason showcase as a chance to immerse himself deeper into Japan, balancing highlight-reel moments on the court with a rare cultural journey off it.

Through the league’s Budo Tour, Ramos stepped into the world of traditional Japanese martial arts, experiencing Kendo, Judo, and Karate not merely as physical disciplines, but as windows into the country’s philosophy of mindfulness, discipline, and perseverance.

 It was a stark contrast from the fast pace of professional hoops, yet one that offered its own kind of rhythm and reset.

A standout stop came in Nagasaki, where Ramos joined local youth for a Samurai Spirit Kendo session, trading sneakers for armor and learning firsthand the focus and respect embedded in the centuries-old practice.

Rather than treating it as a novelty, Ramos leaned into the experience, soaking in the lessons that mirrored the mental demands of elite sport.

That refreshed mindset carried over once the ball went back up. In the finale of the Asia Cross Tournament — a new wrinkle in the B.LEAGUE All-Star format — Ramos delivered the defining moment, drilling a game-winning three to lift the Asia All-Stars to a razor-thin 30-29 victory over B2 Selected.

The weekend encapsulated Ramos’ growth as both a player and an international pro. With Levanga Hokkaido sitting at 23-7, the Filipino guard continues to be a steady force, averaging 12.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.

 But in between jump shots and buzzer-beaters, Ramos proved that sometimes the biggest wins come from embracing the journey beyond the game.
