All-Filipino DOTA 2 squad OG missed out on a podium finish in the Blast Slam V after falling to Team Yandex, 1-2, in the quarterfinals at China on Friday.

OG, which consists of  John “Natsumi-” Vargas, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer, Nikko “Nikko” Bilocura, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, and Andrei “skem” Ong, finished the tournament in sixth place.

OG had a hopeful start after taking Game 1. However, Yandex quickly tied things up after dismantling the Filipinos in 33 minutes in the second match, 1-1.

The decisive Game 3 lasted 47 minutes, with both teams remaining even until the 35-minute mark. Yandex’s draft proved easier to execute, giving them an edge in the late game.

OG struggled in several key engagements, allowing Yandex to build a gold lead that eventually exceeded 20,000. The European squad capitalized on its advantage to secure Roshan, preventing a comeback, ultimately ending their run in the tournament.

The finish marks another mid-table tournament result for the squad, after their 5th-6th place finish in the PGL Wallachia Season 6

This marks another decent finish for OG, as John “Natsumi-” Vargas, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer, Nikko “Nikko” Bilocura, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, and Andrei “skem” Ong placed sixth, after securing a 5th-6th place result at PGL Wallachia Season 6 last month.
