At age 40, Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the most polarizing players in world football. His scoring output has remained deadly with Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr.
However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner knows that the end is near for his illustrious career.
In an interview with media personality Piers Morgan, Ronaldo acknowledged the end may be near and said he will be prepared once it ends.
“It will be soon. But I will be prepared. It’ll be tough and difficult, of course. Probably I will cry, yes. It will be very difficult, but Piers, I have prepared for my future since 25 or 26 years old,” Ronaldo said.
“Nothing will compare to the adrenaline we have to score a goal. But, everything has a beginning and an end, so I’ll be prepared,” he added

The former Real Madrid star wants to spend more time with his family, specifically his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who is currently playing for Portugal’s Under-16 squad.
“I’ll have more time for me, my family, to raise my kids. I want to follow Cristiano Junior because he’s in the age where you do stupid things, normal, I did the same,” he said.
“I want to be more (of a) family person, more present,” Ronaldo added
At the peak of his career, Ronaldo captured four Champions League titles with Real Madrid, as well as nabbing 12 Footballer of the Year awards from 2007 to 2020.
Currently, he is in the midst of becoming the first footballer to reach 1000 goals with Al Nassr and a possible final stint with Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
