Converge to acquire Dave Ildefonso from Titan Ultra

The Converge Fiberxers continue to bolster their promising roster after acquiring the rights for Dave Ildefonso from the Titan Ultra Giant Risers, pending approval from the PBA.

Converge will ship the 27th overall pick Kobe Monje and a 2027 first-round pick for the former Ateneo star.

Ildefonso, who was drafted fifth overall by the now-defunct Northport Batang Pier in the Season 49 draft, has been a star for the Abra Solid North Weavers in the MPBL.

Northport reportedly lowballed Ildefonso with a P150,000 a month salary after the draft, leading the former Korean Basketball League (KBL) player to sign with Abra for a reported P450,000 a month.

The move comes after the Giant Risers released veteran guard Jio Jalalon, and talks with big man Greg Slaughter stalled due to his high asking price.

Titan Ultra boasts a core of Calvin Abueva and Joshua Munzon, and is aggressively looking to bolster its roster even more in this debut season.

The Fiberxers, meanwhile, traded up the draft to pick former UP Fighting Maroons standout Juan Gomez de Liano with the second overall pick, to help their young roster of Justine Baltazar, Schonny Winston, and Alex Stockton.
