Despite trade rumors, the Titan Ultra Giant Risers have assured that stars Calvin Abueva and Joshua Munzon will not be traded for the team’s first season in the upcoming 50th anniversary of the PBA.
Team Manager Aldrian Anglim stressed the importance of having stars such as Abueva and Munzon to help the newly-established team get wins in its first season in the league.
“One thing’s for sure, Calvin and Josh are the faces of our team,” Anglim said. “That’s what I can guarantee [to] the fans of Titan Ultra, that Calvin and Josh are here to stay,” Anglim said.

Rumors circulated that the Giant Risers would trade Abueva to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel after their tune-up game, but Anglim denied the speculation and insisted that there was “no chance” the former Alaska star would depart the team.
Yesterday we had a practice. Tinatawanan nga namin eh. Coincidentally, nag-tune up pa kami ng Ginebra. Wala naman. As in zero. No percentage talaga. Zero percent,” he said.
For Anglim, the franchise is looking toa void the “farm team” tag and will look to establish itself as a mainstay starting this upcoming season, which will start with the Philippine Cup on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Abueva averaged 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds last year after being traded from Magnolia, while Munzon was one of the stars for Northport last season after tallying 15.7 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.7 rebounds.
