Buboy Fernandez reveals Manny Pacquiao’s eagerness to get another world title at 47

Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has defied odds throughout his career and will continue to do so as he seeks to become a world champion again before retirement.

Pacquiao’s longtime trainer Buboy Fernandez shared Pacqioa’s determination to become world champion next year at 47 years old.

“I have never seen anyone train as hard as Manny. They don’t even come close to what he does,” Fernandez told the Daily Tribune.

“This is the reason why he is still up there. He is an intelligent fighter. And because he is so skillful and loves to train, it’s hard to beat him,” he added.

Pacquiao last fought in July, when he fought World Boxing Council (WBC) Welterweight king Mario Barrios to a draw.

There has yet to be an announcement regarding Pacquiao’s next fight, with rumors circulating that it could either be a title bout against World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight champion Rolly Romero or a rematch of the ages with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Romero was the frontrunner for Pacman’s next opponent for months until the WBA recently ordered the champion to fight a mandatory challenger instead.

An exhibition bout against Vasily Lomachenko is also being explored, alongside the rematch with his former rival, Mayweather Jr.

Boxing insider Mike Coppinger recently revealed that talks were underway for a rematch between Pacman and Money Mayweather to take place next year on Netflix.

Whoever the opponent may be, Fernandez is confident in the Filipino legend to finally achieve the final accomplishment of his career due to his unyielding discipline and determination outside of training camp.

“Do you know someone who is like him?” Fernandez asked.
