The Titan Ultra Kings finally broke out of their slump in the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup, defeating the Blackwater Bossing, 97–86, on Wednesday, November 5, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The victory ended Titan Ultra’s four-game losing streak and improved their record to 2–4 in their inaugural PBA season.

The game also marked the debut of versatile forward Aris Dionisio, who played his first game for Titan Ultra after being traded from the Magnolia Hotshots last week. Dionisio made an immediate impact on both ends, finishing with three points and eight rebounds to help the Kings notch their second win of the conference.

Dionisio admitted it took time to process the trade but said he is now embracing the opportunity for a fresh start with his new team.

“Tinawag sa akin ni Coach LA ‘yun na parang Monday last week. And then kinamusta ako and then in-open niya na mayroong trade na nangyari and sinabi niya na involve ako sa trade. And ‘yun nga, na-trade na daw ako kay Koon,” Dionisio said in the postgame press conference.

“Sabi niya, by tomorrow or Wednesday kasi lalabas na. So ‘yun ‘yung sinabi ni coach LA. Sinasabi kasi niya sa amin na once na nagkaroon ng trade sa team ng Magnolia, siya ‘yung unang-unang magsasabi sa players. So ‘yun ‘yung ginawa ni coach LA nung time na ‘yun,” he added.

Titan Ultra acquired Dionisio from Magnolia in exchange for Chris Koon, the No. 4 overall pick in the Season 50 draft. The 30-year-old forward had spent his entire professional career with Magnolia after being selected ninth overall in the 2019 PBA Draft.

“Siyempre, part of the work natin ito as a player. Kumbaga, expect the unexpected lagi. Mangyayari at mangyayari ‘yung ganitong bagay. Nung sinabi ni coach LA ‘yun, kumbaga nalungkot lang din ako siyempre. Ilang years ako nag-stay doon. Nung na-trade ako, parang natulala ako pero okay na uli. Siguro ito ‘yung way ni Lord para mag-start ako ng bago at makapaglaro ng maayos,” he continued.

Now with Titan Ultra, Dionisio is determined to help the team reach the playoffs in their debut season.

“Yung Titan naman, sobrang competitive nila eh. Even sa malalakas na team, talagang lumalaban sila na kahit alam naman natin ‘yung line-up, kokonti lang ‘yung star. Si Calvin lang, si Munzon, tapos lahat puro role player. Kailan lang namin pagtulung-tulungan hanggang sa makakuha kami ng maraming panalo,” Dionisio concluded.

The Kings will aim to sustain their winning momentum when they face powerhouse Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Sunday, November 9.
