Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is all set to make history in the PBA’s 50th season next month, head coach Tim Cone said on Friday.

After a busy offseason, Cone revealed that Ginebra’s roster is already complete as the season will start with the Philippine Cup next month.

“We’re complete,” Cone told Fastbreak.

Ginebra, which failed to capture a championship last season after two finals appearances, saw its longtime captain LA Tenorio depart to become a coach for sister team Purefoods Hotshots, while Jamie Malonzo seized an opportunity to play overseas with the Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan.

Von Pessumal and Paul Garcia also left the team to sign with Northport Batang Pier and Terrafirma Dyip, respectively.

The Gin Kings plugged the holes left by Tenorio and Co. after drafting Draft Combine MVP Sonny Estil with the eighth overall pick, and picking up dependable big man Norbert Torres.

Ginebra’s finals-reaching core remains as Scottie Thompson, Stephen Holt, Troy Rosario, and Japeth Aguilar will try to lead the team on their first championship since the 2022-2023 season.

Young players such as Jeremiah Gray, Rhon Jay Abarrientos, and Ralph Cu are also set to suit up and hope to reach new levels in their game for the Gin Kings.

Cone also added his former player and former PBA MVP Johnny Abarrientos to his coaching staff, which includes Olsen Racela, Richard del Rosario, and Patrick Partosa.

The league has yet to announce the schedule for the opening of its historic 50th season.
