Jio Jalalon fuels rumors after seen practicing with TNT

Current PBA guard Jio Jallon fuelled the rumors of his move to TNT Tropang 5G after being spotted training with them, despite still being a part of Northport Batang Pier.

The Batang Pier came back from a 19-point deficit to force a draw against the Phoenix Fuelmasters in a preseason friendly game on Tuesday in Mandaluyong, but their starting guard was nowhere to be seen.

Jalalon was instead training with Talk n’ Text after clips and photos were posted by members of the team on its social media pages.

The former Arellano standout is yet to become an unrestricted free agent as he is one conference short of the 21 required by the PBA.

Talks of Blackwater looking to snatch him up for Justin Chua recently came to light, while the takeover of Northport by the Pureblends franchise has heated up, with the deal still being deliberated by the PBA board.

Northport still retains Jalalon’s signing rights and will have to either deal him to another team or simply release him if the guard truly wants out of the team. 

The Batang Pier, led by new head coach Johnedel Cardel, acquired Von Pessumal in the offseason while also drafting Chris Koon, CJ Austira, Mark Sangco, and Bryan Sajonia, among others.
