Team Falcons captured the Aegis of Champions after edging out Xtreme Gaming, 3-2, in the grand finals of The International 2025 in Hamburg, Germany.

The win gave the Falcons their first TI crown and a prize of around $1.1 million. Xtreme settled for second place and over $340,000, as the total prize pool reached $2.78 million.

The grand finals turned into a five-game thriller with Xtreme Gaming striking first with a gritty 51-minute win in Game 1 after punishing Falcons’ mistakes in the late game.

Falcons answered right back in Game 2, dominating the lanes and snowballing to a quick equalizer before Game 3, which saw Xtreme regain control, showcasing Ame’s trademark carry play to pull ahead once again.

Falcons forced a decisive Game 5 by tightening their draft picks and outmaneuvering Xtreme in the mid game of Game 4.

With everything on the line, Falcons showed nerves of steel in the finale. Their teamfight coordination was near flawless, shutting down Xtreme’s cores and silencing any comeback hopes. As the Ancient fell, Falcons celebrated their first-ever Aegis, completing a run that defined them as Dota’s new kings.

China’s Wang “Ame” Chunyu fell short in the TI final for the third time as each loss was sealed by a Magnus draft in the deciding game.

Xtreme looked unstoppable early, going unbeaten in the group stage. But their hot run cooled in the finals, as the Falcons proved steadier in the late game of the series.

Falcons’ road to the title featured convincing wins over Tidebound, BetBoom Team, and PARIVISION in the upper bracket as their improved chemistry and discipline showed across the playoffs.

Xtreme, meanwhile, had to fight through the lower bracket after losing to PARIVISION. They eliminated Nigma Galaxy and BetBoom before earning a rematch in the finals.

PARIVISION finished third, while BetBoom settled for fourth. Nigma Galaxy and others made their mark but fell short of breaking into the top four.

This year’s TI also marked the debut of a Swiss-system group stage, replacing the old round-robin format.
