San Miguel Beer has added veteran firepower to its championship squad by signing rookie pick Chris Miller—selected 9th overall in the recent PBA Season 50 Draft—to a two-year contract, team manager Gee Abanilla confirmed. The deal solidifies Miller’s place in one of the league’s deepest guard rotations.

Miller, now 32, brings over a decade of international experience. He has played professionally in countries including Germany, Bosnia, and Iraq, among others.

At the Draft Combine, his three-point shooting drew significant attention: Miller won the Three-Point Shootout, underscoring his range from beyond the arc.

“Wherever I was chosen is where I’m supposed to be. So, I’m taking advantage of that, and I’m looking forward to adding on to the winning culture here,” Miller said upon signing with the Beermen.

San Miguel coach Leo Austria emphasized that shooting was a key need for the team: “Nakita namin yung shooting niya during the Draft Combine. And yun ang kailangan namin,” he said. Miller is expected to complement San Miguel’s sharpshooters Marcio Lassiter and Juami Tiongson, helping to unclog the paint for eight-time MVP June Mar Fajardo.

Being a journeyman, Miller isn’t new to adjusting on the fly. He has talked openly about embracing any role the Beermen give him: “Whatever role that they want me to do I’ll be very happy with. And, I understand that they have a winning culture so I just wanna add to that.”At 32, that veteran mindset will be key as he integrates into a roster accustomed to success.

For San Miguel, which has long leveraged its history, pedigree, and roster depth to compete at the top, Miller offers a blend of experience, shooting, and positional flexibility. As the season unfolds, expectations are that he will see rotational minutes, especially in spacing the floor and offering perimeter scoring when key defenders collapse on Fajardo.

With a two-year deal now in place, Miller’s adjustment period will be watched closely—both by fans and pundits curious to see how his overseas seasoning translates to PBA intensity.

He may not be expected to lead, but if the Beermen’s season demands a hot shooter in high-leverage moments, Miller’s skill set could prove a timely addition.
