MPL PH Week 4: Aurora fortifies top spot after dominating AP.Bren, Omega

Aurora PH strengthened its hold of the top spot in the ML PH Season 16 standings after dominant wins against AP Bren and Smart Omega in Week 4 at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

Aurora boosted their slate to 6 wins and a loss with six match points, one ahead of ONIC Philippines and Team Liquid PH.

The league leaders started the weekend with a dominant sweep of AP.Bren, 2-0.

Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo led Aurrora’s charge in the first game and earned his first career Savage with his Kimmy pick. He finished Game 1 with a stellar 5-1-5 KDA to earn the MVP.

Dylan “Light” Catipon’s Gatotkaca then resisted Ap.Bren’s Denniel “xNova” Gomez’s Kalea, leading to a 5-1 wipeout to secure the win and series.

Light showed why he was one of the best roamers in the league after an MVP-winning 1-1-11 KDA in Game 2.

Aurora Gaming continued to stamp its class in Week 4 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 regular season after beating Smart Omega, 2-1, for their sixth consecutive win.

The Northern Lights then took care of Smart Omega, 2-1, on Saturday to close out the weekend in solo first.

Coming off their sweep of AP.Bren, Aurora dominated Omega in Game 1 as Edward “Edward” Dapadap, using Terizl, completed a Lord steal to make way for John “Demonkite” Caranto’s split push to draw first blood.

However, Omega evened things up in Game 2 as they roared to 16 kills to Aurora’s 2 in only 15 minutes.

In Game 3, Aurora regained the momentum, capturing a 7K gold lead in 12 minutes en route to a 20-minute win.

Aurora will seek to avenge their only loss of the season against Team Falcons at the same venue on Friday, Sept. 19.
