In a heartfelt display of enduring love, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo recently celebrated his fifth anniversary with girlfriend Chloe San Jose, reflecting on their journey with gratitude for both the highs and lows.

Beyond the romantic sentiments, Carlos Yulo confirmed that his mother’s disapproval of Chloe San Jose was a significant factor in their strained relationship. His mother allegedly disliked Chloe from the beginning, even without having met her, and judged her based on her dress and demeanor. 

Carlos defended Chloe, stating she has her own income and that her lifestyle and travels are from her own hard work. He also mentioned instances where Chloe had to support him financially. His mother attributed the “deterioration” of her relationship with Carlos to Chloe, and in one interview, called Chloe a “red flag.”

Carlos Yulo has publicly stated that he has “forgiven” his mother and wishes for his family to heal and move on.

Crucially, he emphasized the growth fostered by their shared experiences: “Aalagaan, mamahalin at poprotektahan ko po ang lahat ng ito. She described their journey as “half a decade of love, laughter, lessons, and leaning on each other,” expressing pride in their collective growth through various challenges.
