The Choco Mucho Flying Titans have been dealt a major blow as they participate in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour preseason tournament, after management confirmed the official departure of versatile setter Mars Alba from the franchise.

The Flying Titans’ management announced Alba’s departure on their various social media accounts, stating, “Your exceptional playmaking and court smarts will remain significant contributions to the team. You will always be a Titan. Good luck on your next chapter.”

Alba joined the Flying Titans in January 2024 following the disbandment of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers. The De La Salle standout established herself as a key player on the Choco Mucho roster, helping the franchise finish second in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, where they lost to the Creamline Cool Smashers in the finals.

The setter played a total of three conferences for the Flying Titans, with rumors of her potential departure growing in recent weeks after she was absent from several Rebisco events. The Flying Titans seemed to anticipate her exit, selecting setter Tia Andaya as the seventh overall pick in the 2025 Rookie Draft.

Alba took to Instagram to thank the management and her teammates for the experience.

“Thank you very much to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans management, coaches, and teammates for the trust and for teaching me to become a better athlete. I’m eternally grateful for this experience,” Alba wrote in her post.

Alba is currently representing Alas Pilipinas at the VTV Cup in Vietnam, and her next destination remains unknown at this time. Meanwhile, the Flying Titans have Deanna Wong, Jem Ferrer, and Andaya as the setters currently on their squad.
