Team Liquid PH is turning MPL Philippines Season 17 into a showcase of dominance rather than competition, finishing the first half of the season with a perfect 7–0 record after dismantling ONIC PH in a 2–0 sweep during Week 4.

The reigning back-to-back champions didn’t just win—they controlled every layer of the series, from early map pressure to late-game execution, reinforcing why they sit alone at the top of the standings.

Game 1 hinged on a decisive 20-minute Lord fight where jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s timing flipped momentum, forcing ONIC into a defensive retreat that quickly collapsed under pressure.

Midlaner Alston “Sanji” Pabico then sealed the deal with a perfectly timed ultimate, locking down ONIC’s base while Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya added consistent firepower on the sidelines.

ONIC jungler King Cyric “KingKong” Perez said, “Actually po, expected po namin kung paano maglaro yung TLPH… sobrang tibay po nang na-build nilang foundation sa playstyle nila.”

ONIC acknowledged lapses in communication after failing to convert their early advantage into a win.

KarlTzy finished the opener with three kills and eight assists, setting the tone for what followed.

Game 2 felt even more one-sided, as KarlTzy once again dictated tempo with an uncontested Lord take on Suyou, followed by key pick-offs during a crucial 11th-minute clash.

He ended the game with a spotless nine kills and one assist, pushing Team Liquid’s perfect streak to seven straight wins.

Rookie Dave “Teddy” Viaña continued to quietly strengthen his case in the gold lane, stepping up amid roster changes and proving his value with steady performances throughout the season.

Head coach Ong “Aeon” Wei Sheng emphasized the team’s evolving adaptability.

“There’s more than one way to win the game…It’s about how many of those we can master,” Aeon said.

Statistically, Team Liquid PH now leads the league at 7–0, ahead of Team Falcons PH at 6–1, with ONIC PH at 4-3, Aurora Gaming PH, and Twisted Minds PH tied at 3-4 which are further behind in the standings.

With momentum fully on their side, the team heads into a highly anticipated rematch against Aurora Gaming PH in Week 5, where their unbeaten run will face another serious test.

Team Liquid’s current campaign isn’t just about winning—it’s about control, consistency, and redefining what dominance looks like in MPL PH Season 17.
